Arabic RAG System
Led development of a production Arabic-language Retrieval-Augmented Generation system, deployed across government entities in the GCC. Built with Azure OpenAI, PGVector, FastAPI, and LangChain. Handles bilingual (Arabic + English) document retrieval with custom chunking, reranking, evals, and guardrails.
Holobox AI Avatar Platform
AI-driven interactive avatar platform showcased at GITEX, Biban, and LEAP. Led the project from concept to deployment, including a live demo at GITEX Dubai. Delivered a training course on Holobox and Neural Networks to Princess Nourah University graduates.
Traceability Dashboard
Refactored the entire Angular codebase and redesigned the dashboard for full responsiveness. Implemented Angular Material, led feature development, fixed critical bugs, mentored junior developers, and managed Docker deployments.
Alsaudi Travel Platform
Full-stack web application for a Jordanian travel agency — managing hotels, flights, visas, Hajj, Umrah, clearances, tours, and payment integration. Built an automated submission processing system with secure workflows. Delivered to client acclaim as a top product in the Jordan market.
Smart Construction AI
RAG-powered system for managing construction submittals from spec documents. Users can index project specs, query approved products and manufacturers, create auto-numbered submittals with revisions, and import existing logs from Excel.
Book Companion
Personalized AI reading companion that digests books, extracts insights, and enables querying a personal knowledge base. Built with multi-agent architecture to showcase LangGraph orchestration.
Netgreen Mobile App
Full-stack mobile app enabling users to participate in a “plant a tree” sustainability service. Built frontend and backend, mentored a junior developer, integrated third-party services.

I'm Louay Alshoum — a Senior Tech Lead and Applied AI Engineer at Verofax, where I've spent 4+ years shipping products across AI, AR, and full-stack development.
I recently led the development of a production Arabic RAG system deployed across government entities in the GCC — from architecture to delivery. Before that, I built the Holobox, an AI-powered interactive avatar showcased at GITEX, Biban, and LEAP.
Originally from Syria, I've called seven countries home — from Damascus to Europe, Kuwait, China, Jordan, Lebanon, the UAE, and now Saudi Arabia. Preparing for the next chapter in the US.
I hold a Master's and Bachelor's in Computer Science, I'm a Microsoft Certified Azure AI Engineer, a Certified ScrumMaster, and I'm currently deepening my ML foundations through Andrew Ng's specialization. My name means shield in Arabic. I like to think I protect the things that matter: knowledge, craft, and the curiosity to keep going.
